Lupita Niong'o a wonderful actress with an inpecabble sense of style! 

At the Critics’ Choice Awards, not only did 12 Years a Slave take home the top prize, but star Lupita Nyong’o took home the award for Best Supporting Actress. It was her first big win of the season. Lupita Nyong’o was quickly becoming the darling of awards season — and we honestly cannot get enough of her versatile, fashion-forward sense of style! The 12 Years a Slave actress totally stole the show in a red Ralph Lauren number at the Golden Globes, which she also won, and then did it again at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Some time later, Nyong’o received a standing ovation from the Oscars crowd. “Yes,” she yelled, before thanking the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science. She dedicated the award to the “spirit of Patsey,” the character she played in 12 Years a Slave. And, to our complete delight, Lupita’s looks on the red carpet have been as enticing as her work.

The first Nicolas Ghesquière’s show for Louis Vuitton

This is the first Nicolas Ghesquière’s show for Louis Vuitton, following the departure of Marc Jacobs, and the difference came into sharp focus: Jacobs is an emotional designer, while Ghesquière is a more cerebral one, with a work whose every detail is plotted out and executed to perfection. Presented in the Cour Carrée, at the Louvre, Ghesquière’s debut collection for LV is realistic, functional and extremely chic, with a Sixties vibe to it (like in Miu Miu). So expect dresses and skirts cut in A-line, and all very short. Perhaps it’s the beginning of the decline of the mídi, as other labels also prefered it short: Giambattista Valli, Miu Miu, and now LV).

Energy. Movement. Function. Stella McCartney’s Fall/ Winter 14 is an urbane collection with a touch of the artisan hand, with zippers swirled and twirled into all kinds of pattern play and fringes festooned around the body. The sleek pants bared an arc of ankle above a wooden platform.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI/ PFW FALL-WINTER 14

Not a single Giambattista Valli’s look came past the knee: his cocktail looks were all very short and luxurious. As for the surfaces, Giambattista played on his beloved flowers, with a print of maxi roses, and gardens in three-dimension guipure embroideries.

There were new riff on volume: geometric flaps were inserted on the side of the dresses’ waist for an effect that resembled a godet skirt. Absolutely lovely! Enjoy it!
