Chanel inaugurates new store in Boston!

Local: Boston, MA, EUA



After trying to secure a larger space here years ago , Chanel today quintuples its selling space in Boston with a new store 10 thousand square meters .

The store is the fourth largest in the U.S.A , behind New York City , Waikiki , Hawaii and Beverly Hills .
The operations director for Chanel , John Galantic explains that it was time to give a major city like Boston of the size and scale of boutique of deserves . Bonston is a key cultural city in the U.S.A and , in some respects , its historical importance to the country echoes the importance of Paris for France .

The store also marks the growth of the company under the design direction of Karl Lagerfeld .
The project of Piter  Piloto  merges walls with different finishes over two floors there tweed  chairs, walls in gold and black , crystal mosaics . On the second floor , where the shoes are exposed  , the climate becomes more intimate the stone floors give way to carpets.



The Boston store features two Goossens rock crystal chandeliers , in recognition of the jeweler  collaboration with Coco Chanel . Also rock crystals fill the upstairs fireplace . Also Marino commissioned artists to reinterpret Coco Chanel 's Coromandel screens , wheat sheaves and deer sculpture .

Pride of place goes to artist Jean - Michel Othniel , who designed the roughly 20 -foot sculpture of Murano glass beaded que hangs at the staircase in jewelrylike drapes and swags . Othniel , who was a resident artist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum , is
currently working on a commission for Versailles .
